PRIMATE ADAPTATION AND EVOLUTION - MARCHI DAMIANO

The course deals with the study of primate evolutionary adaptations from the beginning of their evolution up to the onset of early human ancestors. The course will cover the following topics: a. the body of primates; b. where and how primates live: habitat, diet, locomotion, social life; c. extant primates: from lemurs to apes; d. primate origins: fossil prosimians, anthropoids and apes; early hominins.
